adamariz teamed up yet again with producer, 1995, to bring you her latest single, “MINDSET”.
A continuation of “Not Sorry”, adamariz continues with the theme being unashamed of her testimony.
This is a song that is meant to open your eyes to people with different mindsets.
From the opening line, adamariz describes how she has a different mindset now from an individual who is now an acquaintance.
It can be safe to presume that this change in mindset came after not speaking with this individual as much.
adamariz follows up by insisting there is no beef but they are no longer close, and that they should instead focus on God.
At some point in the song, it almost sounds like adamariz is bitter. Then comes the “my bad I’m speaking from a place of hurt, or maybe it’s all this newness.”
This line alludes back to “My Fault (I’m Sorry)” and to her upcoming EP “NEW BEGINNINGS”.
After the hook, adamariz ends the song with how her mindset changed, and by acknowledging that she had to take the speck out of her own eye first.
With a captivating instrumental and the storytelling, this song is sure to remind people that yes, people in the church may hurt you. However, until you acknowledge you also messed up and change your mindset, you can’t help them or judge them.
