Dezzy Yates Testimony – Healing from Sexual Trauma, Porn Addiction & Church Hurt

adJUSTments Podcast Ep. 2 | Hosted by Justmic216

Dezzy Yates testimony of healing from sexual trauma, porn addiction, and church hurt takes center stage in Episode 2 of the adJUSTments Podcast. In this powerful and transparent conversation, Dezzy joins host Justmic216 to confront early exposure to sexuality, the scars of trauma, and the tension of vulnerability within the church.

Through this dialogue, they explore how pain shaped their mental health, identity, and relationship with God—and how truth-telling, accountability, and faith brought them toward freedom.

Scripture Highlight – James 5:16

“Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed.
The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.”
— James 5:16 (CSB)

This episode embodies James 5:16 in action—Dezzy Yates opens up about wounds most people bury. But in sharing, he doesn’t glorify the past—he models the healing that comes when we expose darkness to the light of Christ. Confession leads to community, and community can lead to true transformation.

Key Themes from Dezzy Yates’ Testimony

• Early exposure to sex and abuse planted confusion and shame

• Porn addiction took root in secrecy and isolation

• Church rejection deepened his struggle with self-worth

• Spiritual healing came through accountability, music, and mentorship

• Faith became the anchor, even in seasons of deep emotional struggle

Dezzy and Justmic talk candidly about the emotional aftermath of sexual trauma, the silent pressure men carry, and why churches need safe spaces for these hard conversations.

Why This Conversation Matters

This episode is more than an interview—it’s ministry. It confronts the quiet epidemic of hidden sexual wounds within the Body of Christ. Too often, men suffer silently under shame, especially in churches that aren’t equipped to walk with them through healing.

But Dezzy Yates’ testimony shines a light on this reality:
Healing is possible. Jesus is not afraid of your past. And the church must become a hospital, not a courtroom.
