Dezzy Yates – “Enjoy the Mixtape”

“These past two years have been some of the most challenging in my life,” Dezzy Yates says.

“One thing I’ve learned through all of this, though, is that the difference between victory and defeat is simple: enjoy the life that Christ has given you. Seizing this simple concept has taught me a lot.

It also rekindled a fire to enjoy the gifts that He has given me, one of them being my gift of making music.

When I first started creating, the simple art of recording was a joy. It didn’t matter about the record sales. Social media followers didn’t matter (MySpace for the win baby! Whoo!). I loved finding beats, writing to them, and rapping to my heart’s content. Sharing it with my friends was an even greater joy. This project, in my opinion, captures that.”
