About Observing Blue Skies
Observing Blue Skies reflects Dezzy Yates’ personal journey of overcoming perfectionism and embracing God’s plan through small beginnings. The mixtape features a unique mix of polished tracks, rough demos, and unfinished ideas — all intentionally shared to highlight the beauty of imperfection.
“We idolize perfection. I know I do, and it gets in the way of what God really wants to do.” – Dezzy Yates
The project’s title symbolizes choosing optimism and faith — looking for the good, no matter the season. Through his music, Dezzy encourages listeners to see setbacks not as barriers, but as opportunities to witness God’s hand at work.
Inspiration Behind the Mixtape
Dezzy Yates opens up about his struggles with perfectionism, anger at small beginnings, and frustration with waiting on the “right” moments. Observing Blue Skies was born out of a decision to stop holding back and simply do what God called him to do — despite imperfect circumstances.
This raw, vulnerable approach makes the mixtape stand out. It’s an act of faith — offering what he has instead of waiting for ideal conditions.
What Makes It Unique
Unlike traditional releases, Observing Blue Skies is a blend of:
