Album Review by Justmic from TheBookkeeper247:

Marqus Anthony running it back, giving both the saints and the hood a re-release of his EP, Metropolis Nights. This deluxe edition ain’t just a remix; it’s a statement. He’s out here hitting the parking lots with Detroit drill slapping beats, rattling trunks, and serenading tweeters with raw, unfiltered energy. It’s that amp, high-energy, aggressive feel that any reborn Christian or church-raised man can bounce and slide to!

Marqus is bringing us back to the heart of Detroit with these tracks, gifting fans six new bonus joints that are straight fire. He’s putting some of his brothers on these beats, creating that authentic “Detroit vs. everybody” vibe. But in Marqus’s case, it’s Detroit vs. every demon in the field! He’s not shying away from the spiritual battle, making it clear he’s sliding on every demon that’s out here trying to come for the saints.

From start to finish, Marqus Anthony reps Detroit with boldness and purpose. He lets you know that God has transformed not only him but also using him in his city.

Every verse is packed with Godly wisdom, metaphors, and even a few sports puns. He’s out here as a player for GOD, crushing every beat and making sure you feel every word.

Let’s break down some of the standout joints on this project that are guaranteed to hit you hard.

Standout Tracks

1. Coming Back

The first track on this EP slaps so hard, it’ll make you sit up and take notice. This song sets the whole tone of Metropolis Nights. That beat jumps right at you, and before you know it, you’ve got a mug on your face, nodding along like you’re in the front row at a Detroit block party.

Marqus Anthony comes into the hook with energy, charisma, and confidence that’s undeniable. He spits his heart out, letting everyone know that Jesus is COMING BACK! You can feel the comfort in his verses; he’s fully at home with his message, delivering it with the conviction that only comes from lived experience.

2. Undo 2 (featuring Choirboy Bell, AB Da Blessing, Touch1Chozen, Faygo Beezy & Kwa The Daydreamer)

For anyone who loves a good cypher, Undo 2 is gonna be your joint! Marqus Anthony brought the whole squad on this one, and they’re repping the D like only Detroit artists can.

Each artist brings their unique flow, spitting holy bars that hit hard while staying true to themselves. They’re out here proving that you can talk about faith without watering down the message or the music.

This track isn’t just lyrical; it’s powerful. The commitment each artist has to spit truth and keep it real with their testimony shows up in every line.

6. Fake Smiles (featuring ArJay)

In the walk with Christ, there comes a time when you have to get real with yourself and confront the fakeness we all carry sometimes.

Fake Smiles dives deep into that vulnerability. Marqus shows what it means to lead with honesty, even when it’s uncomfortable. He’s out here apologizing for his own fake smiles, letting the world know he’s had to push through rough times too. This song is an example of true leadership — being able to own your weaknesses and share them with others.

The hook is heartfelt, and his verses hit with the kind of confidence that only comes when you’ve faced your own struggles head-on.
