🔥 About the Track
The first Blessed on Purpose single of the year has arrived, and Marqus Anthony sets the tone with his latest release, Marq S., now available on all platforms.
🔥 About “Marq S.”
Marq S. is unlike any other record out right now.
Inspired by the Apple TV series Severance, Marqus Anthony builds the track around sharp cultural references layered every four bars, transforming familiar imagery into spiritually grounded wordplay. Lines like “Chop a demon leave his head severed call me Marq S.” and “If God tell me not to move, I never been stiller” showcase his ability to blend creativity with conviction.
Rather than borrowing culture for shock value, Marqus uses it as a vehicle — weaving Godly Christian bars throughout the song and keeping the message rooted in faith. The result is a track that feels clever without being hollow and bold without losing its Gospel foundation.
🎶 Production & Sound
Produced by The I Project, the record rides a smooth Detroit-inspired beat with soulful textures that slap from start to finish. The production perfectly complements Marqus Anthony’s vocal delivery, allowing his lyricism to stay front and center without distraction.
The sound is confident, polished, and intentional — reinforcing the sense that this release is part of a bigger vision.
The Gospel According to Marq is coming.
